Mary and Alberto and I were invited to dinner at Vicky and Jaime's apartment last night. Dinner was wonderful! Jaime grilled and Vicky cooked absolutely scrumptious food to go with the grilled items. Mary had told me ahead of time that Vicky's food is amazing! Vicky is in the front of this photo.
Vicky and Jaime were drinking gin and tonics when we arrived and I decided to have the same. The gin was sooooooo interesting. I have to remember to tell Kristine when I get home that apparently this London Gin company distills their gin in London, but imports water from Iceland for their product! Amazing!
And the wine that we had at dinner was very good. It comes from Mendoza region. Jaime owns/rents a small amount of land that lies in a larger vineyard. Then he gets all of the wine from his land. This wine is a part of the wine that Jaime receives from this arrangement. Lots of fun!
After dinner and a wonderful strawberry dessert, we watched fireworks from the balcony. You can see for many miles up and down the beach from this apartment complex. Plus the beach actually curves out to sea on the left hand side so that one gets an even bigger view of land. There were fireworks and paper lanterns EVERYWHERE! It was quite amazing. I forgot to take any photos, so I have borrowed a few from the internet. The first is one that someone obviously took from the water. But is is so wonderful I include it even though it is not exactly our view:
And here are the newest photos of Jack and Galileo and their parents. The first is a photo of Galileo:
and the second is Jack:
I think that I had already put these at the end of another post....but they are so cute, I think that I'll leave them here as well. We are getting less enthusiastic about taking photos. The hospital frowns at having ones VERY UNSANITARY phone in the room....and it is less fun sneaking the phone out to take photos than it was at the first. All is well. Babies are growing!
Spanish words of the day both yesterday and today are:
Como Estace? (How are you?) reply is bien......
De Nada (you are welcome) Literally it means "of nothing"....Mary does it with a wave of her hand showing that what they are thanking you for was of no importance....I like it.
