Mary did not go to work today.  So I took Uber to Starbucks and picked up coffees for both of us.  We had quite the feast for breakfast as Mary had bought bread from her favorite bread store the day before and had bought my favorite pastry as well.  Yummmmm.  Alberto had gotten up very early to go with the bicycle group.  Mary and I went to Jockey plaza to shop.  We were mostly looking for things for the market.  It is a huge shopping mall next door to a what looks like a horse racetrack....so I suppose that is why it is called Jockey.  It is huge!  Grocery store, Sudimac, and store after store.  There is an outside area that has upscale shopping.  Quite overwhelming.  However we could not find the desk chair, candles, nor outdoor cushions that Mary was hoping to find.  However, she was quite successful with trash cans a  few other things for the market at Sudimac.  The driving was unusually easy as it was Sunday and much less traffic.

Paola arrived late last night.  Then went with the bicycle group this morning.  And she is traveling for work tomorrow.  So we had a lunch with Paola, Ulher, and Maria Isabelle.  To make life easy for everyone, we ordered in chicken and fries and salad and chinese food as well.  Lots of fun.



This evening we celebrated Maria Isabelle's birthday.  Her daughter came bringing a cake.  And we all had cake for dinner.  When the candles were lit, I started singing Happy Birthday in English and then realized I was the wrong language and stopped.....Mary said that I was actually correct.  That in Peru you sing Happy Birthday first in English and then you "jazz" it up in Spanish for the second verse.  Very fun!
